About UK Fishing School
UK Fishing School helps people learn to fish properly, build confidence and develop the skills to enjoy angling independently.
Whether you have never held a fishing rod before, want to improve the way you fish, or are ready to develop more advanced skills, we provide professional, practical instruction built around real fishing experiences.
Our aim is simple: to help you move from “I wouldn’t know where to start” to “I can go fishing.”
A Clear Fishing Journey
Fishing can seem complicated when you are starting out. There is tackle to choose, rigs to understand, bait to prepare, fish to handle and different methods to learn. We make that process easier by breaking angling down into clear, achievable stages.
Learn to Fish is for beginners and those building their core skills. Starting with simple techniques, you can progress through float fishing, feeder fishing and carp fishing while developing the knowledge and confidence to fish more independently.
Improve Your Fishing is for anglers who already understand the basics and want to develop particular methods, species or techniques.
Advance Your Fishing takes things further, helping experienced anglers refine their approach, understand more advanced tactics and become more adaptable at the waterside.
You can follow the full progression or simply choose the lesson or experience that suits what you want to achieve.
Real Fishing, Proper Instruction
We believe the best way to learn to fish is by fishing. Our lessons combine clear explanation with plenty of practical experience. We don’t just show you what to do — we help you understand why it works, so you can make better decisions when fishing on your own.
Equipment and bait are provided on many of our beginner sessions, removing the need to buy tackle before you know what you need.
Alongside our scheduled lessons, we offer private fishing experiences, family sessions, junior activities, carp camps, specialist fishing and online learning.
Welcoming and Accessible
Fishing should be open to everyone. We regularly teach complete beginners, children, families, returning anglers and people who may need a quieter or more individual approach to learning. Our instructors have experience supporting a wide range of abilities and learning needs, with safety, inclusion and fish welfare central to everything we do.
Small groups and practical instruction mean there is time to ask questions, practise properly and learn at your own pace.

UK Fishing School combines extensive angling experience with many years of teaching. Our instructors continue to develop their skills through professional training in areas including first aid, safeguarding and inclusive practice, while remaining active anglers themselves.
Most importantly, we understand that good instruction is not about showing someone how much the instructor knows. It is about helping the person in front of us become a more confident and capable angler.
