Course Description

For young anglers aged 11–16 who already love fishing and are ready for their next big step. Junior Carp Camp is a residential carp fishing experience built around real time on the bank: fishing through the day, into the evening and overnight, learning alongside other young anglers who share the same enthusiasm. This isn’t about sitting through lessons. Campers fish, make decisions, try new techniques and learn from what happens during a proper carp session – with experienced instructors there to guide, support and challenge them at the right level. They’ll develop skills such as setting up and organising their swim, choosing tactics, preparing bait and rigs, reading changing conditions, playing and landing fish, and caring properly for every carp they catch. Just as importantly, Carp Camp helps young anglers become more confident and independent. They’ll learn to look after their own equipment, think through fishing decisions, work alongside others and take more responsibility for their time on the bank. A proper carp fishing experience There is plenty of structured learning, but also plenty of what young anglers really want: time to fish. That means waiting for runs, reacting when something changes, sharing catches, talking fishing with other campers and experiencing the excitement of fishing into the night. Because the group is intentionally small, every camper receives individual support while still having the freedom to develop their own fishing. No specialist kit required Campers are welcome to bring their own tackle, but owning a full carp setup is not essential. We can provide rods, reels, bite alarms, landing nets, fish-care equipment, bivvies, bedchairs, bait and rig materials as required. Meals, snacks and drinks are also included, so parents do not need to buy specialist equipment simply for the event. All fishing and overnight activities are closely supervised by experienced staff. Who is Carp Camp for? Carp Camp is ideal for young anglers who already have some fishing experience and want to become more capable, confident and independent. They don’t need to know everything before they arrive. They just need an enthusiasm for fishing, some existing experience and a willingness to learn. For many campers, the biggest outcome isn’t simply catching more carp. It’s going home feeling much more like an angler who knows what they’re doing.
