What to Expect
Warm Welcome and Introduction: Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by our friendly instructors who will introduce themselves and give you an overview of the dayβs activities.
Equipment Setup: We'll provide all the necessary fishing gear and guide you through setting it up, ensuring you're comfortable with the equipment.
Basic Instruction: Start with a brief tutorial covering essential fishing techniques, safety guidelines, and tips on how to make the most of your fishing experience.
Hands-On Practice: Head to the water to practice casting, baiting, and other key skills under the watchful eye of our instructors, who will offer personalised guidance and support.
Catch and Release: Experience the excitement of catching fish, learn how to handle them safely, and practice catch-and-release techniques.

Pre Course Requirements
Before booking, make sure you can:

Set up your own tackle for bolt rig-style fishing

Cast reasonably accurately to a chosen spot

Fish independently, without needing help to handle gear or fish

Have experience landing fish over 5lb
If you're not quite there yet, we recommend completing Lesson 3 or 4 of our Learn to Fish programme first. That way, youβll build the right foundation for success on the bank when chasing bigger carp.

The lesson duration is 4 hours, we ask you to arrive a little early to get you booked in before the lesson starts.
Group Sizes and Ages
Our group sizes are capped at 4 people to ensure top-notch teaching and individual attention. This small size guarantees personalised guidance for each angler, enhancing your learning experience and skill development.
Minimum age for groups sessions is 10 years, all Under 16's must be accompanied by adult.
Children under 10 can be taught on a 1-2-1 or family session, please contact us for details.
What to Bring
To make sure youβre comfortable and ready for a great day of fishing, please bring the following:

Outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for the weather β weβll be outside for the whole session

A chair β youβll want somewhere comfy to sit while waiting for a bite

Your own tackle (if you have it) β while we provide all the gear youβll need, it's best to learn using your own equipment if you have some

Fishing Licence
In England and Wales, anyone aged 13 or over needs a valid fishing licence to take part in our lessons.
Who Needs One?

Ages 13β16: You need a licence, but itβs free of charge

Ages 17 and above: Licences start at Β£7.10 and can be purchased online from the Environment Agency
