Course Description

Already started carp fishing and ready to develop your skills further? This 4-hour intermediate course is designed for anglers who understand the basics but want to become more confident, consistent and independent. You’ll learn how to read the water and identify likely feeding areas, choose and prepare suitable baits, and understand when changing your approach could make a difference. We’ll look at carp rigs in more detail, including how to set them up correctly and make practical adjustments for different situations. You’ll also develop your watercraft and spot-marking skills, helping you make better decisions about where and how to fish rather than simply casting and hoping for the best. Fish care and safe handling remain an important part of the course, particularly as you begin targeting larger carp. The aim is to help you understand why your approach works, build confidence in your own decisions and take the next step towards becoming a more capable carp angler. What to Expect Our courses are practical, friendly and focused on learning by doing. Your instructor will help you set up, demonstrate the key skills and coach you as you put them into practice beside the water. All tackle, bait, venue entry and fishing permits are included, and group lessons are limited to 4 anglers so everyone receives individual support. Courses run for 4 hours. Please arrive a little before the advertised start time. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for the weather. You’re also welcome to bring your own fishing equipment if you have it. Group sessions are suitable from age 10, with under-16s accompanied by an adult. Anglers aged 13+ will need the appropriate Environment Agency fishing licence.
